PACKING!

I won't regale you with my entire packing list, but suffice to say, I packed pretty much the same things you would pack for a week.  Considering layering and unpredictable weather, I brought clothes  that will layer easily: long sleeve tees, a few button down shirts, a few t-shirts, a fleece jacket and a rain jacket (that conveniently packs into its pocket), quick dry pants, sweats, and one pair of jeans with a set of light weight wool long johns that will layer under it all for added warmth.
I also made the executive decision to pack my entire toilet kit to avoid the whole 3-1-1 thing.  There is nothing I desperately need in it for the ride over.  And it didn't fit in my carry-on.  Toss in two boxes of gluten free trail bars for hiking and it is stuffed to the gills.
The carry-on has all the junk you need to keep yourself entertained and fed while being bored to death on an airplane, plus a full set of clothes in case the unforeseen happens.  (you never know when you may find yourself in desperate need of clothing) I preloaded a few books, an audio book, and a new game onto my kindle and also brought a small coloring book and pencils, and a journal because I so love to journal--ugh.

The best thing about the luggage (from Eagle Creek) is that the two bags snap together when you arrive at your destination, so you have only one wheeled thing to deal with.  I think the whole idea is amazing!
